Den blodige søndagen er betegnelsen på masseskytingen som foregikk i Derry (Londonderry) i Nord-Irland, 30. januar 1972. Britiske soldater åpnet ild mot en borgerrettsmarsj og skjøt mot 26 sivile som ikke var bevæpnet. Demonstrantene ble skutt på av britiske skarpskyttere som lå på hustakene rundt i Bogside-området i Derry (Londonderry). Mange ble skutt mens de flyktet eller prøvde å hjelpe andre. Protestmarsjen ble organisert av den nordirske borgerrettsbevegelsen (Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association - NICRA). Det var en fredelig protestmarsj, og alle som ble beskutt var katolikker og nasjonalister.
